Antiquity Meets Imagination

Historical Fantasy Illustrations

Art is escapism - so retreat into an alternate version of the past with me!

This section of my portfolio contains fantasy-inspired illustrations with historical themes, from Rococo whimsy to medieval horror and everything in between. Together, all of these subjects comprise my personal love letter to a time that never was and a place that can only be reached through the imagination.

(Note: this portfolio looks best when viewed on desktop as opposed to mobile.)

According to the stories, the Fae Folk gather at the height of summer.

In the sweltering heat, in the most hidden of gardens, they gather, with that enchanting music and the heady aroma of those mid-summer blossoms.

Their time is lost along with their inhibitions, and they dance and drink and laugh for days and days.

The stories say that when they gather, they sometimes invite just one person not of the Folk to partake in the revelry.

But be careful whose invitation you accept - just one sip of tea, one twirl of a dance, one sniff of a flower, and you may never leave that most hidden of gardens; that most enthralling reverie...

They say the reverie is

      happening again this year.

Oh - you’ve not heard of it?

It’s just a little something fun;

       a small diversion to pass the time.

Think of it as an exclusive gathering, our little tea party. You have one sip, and another, and another, until before you know it you're frolicking in the fields with not a care in the world!

I know it sounds silly, but I just want my guests to have a good time.

         And after all, it is tradition - you wouldn't want

to go against tradition, now, would you?
